OMG. Yes, OMG- said verbally. Last night I saw something about Kanye West and his poor behavior when Taylor Swift won a VMA. What prompted his rudeness? He thought Beyonce’s video was the best of the decade by far… and… and I really had to do some quick googling.

First I looked up the Taylor Swift video “You Belong to Me”. It was sloppy, rushed, cheap, kind of sweet/cute but definitely nothing I would see on a VMA show, at least not the VMA shows from 15-20 years ago. I was puzzled and needed to google the prize video that “should have won” the best female video and DID win the best video.

I sat staring and scratching my head. Girls just grinding around with no background… no… nothing… just singing about if the guy doesn’t like her grinding with other guys- he should have married her. Well other than me thinking “Well the men I’d get jealous or uncomfortably if they were slutting around in front of me- does not mean I’d want to devote my life to them… it just means it’s disturbing. Period.”

I think the entire show had my mouth open and wondering what happened to talent. Lady Gaga is a complete joke. Britney is still as untalented as ever and the entire show felt like the K-Mart Blue Light Special of the music industry. WHAT HAPPENED? MTV, please remove yourself from the airwaves… or fiber optic cable.

Video killed the radio star back in the 70′s and 80′s… but I’m thinking now video is killing the video star and I’ll take radio any day.

The best part of the show? When Beyonce won for the best video and during her speech, she stopped and had Taylor Swift come and complete the speech she was so rudely interrupted on.

And still- I couldn’t get the award winning video lyrics out of my head from “Single Ladies”
