Each time Steve Carell is in a new film as the leading man I dislike him as an actor more and more. He doesn’t have the talent or stage presence to carry a film, but obviously he tickles the funny bone of some pretty influencial people.

I’m not saying I don’t *get* the man or find him bland. Quite the opposite. As a supporting character he’s great. His writing is humorous and although I don’t care for him in The Office, I became a fan during The Daily Show.

The story line was- meh. It was *interesting* or could have been, but the chemistry wasn’t there and he wound up annoying me.

I went to bed feeling my evening was wasted (I was already bummed having to have returned the Star Wars Trilogy to the video store).

Extremely early this morning after I put Jonathon on the bus and waited for his school meeting time to arrive (allowing myself to get lost… which I did get to the school on time, but I wound up twenty minutes late trying to find the class room even after 3 staff members and two students went looking for the room with me.) I learned a lot about their zillion acronyms for every class… after trying to figure out what his acronym class was.

Anyway Southland Tales was my morning view- From the writer/director of Donnie Darko, I saw he has an obsession with space/time/and bullets in the eye. Struggles with religion, political agendas and slow mo party scenes. It was enjoyable but it brought nothing new.

This time next week I’ll have been in NYC for two hours (and yes, this stops now… maybe).
