I guess the idea is that you pay a crap load of money to play games with someone of your preferred gender. You can pay a little for some flirting, or a lot for some dirty speak (I think… the site is supposedly unable to handle the amount of people supposedly interested in gaining membership. If this is the case, I don’t think it’s going to last long. Anyway, I didn’t feel like looking at the demos and I’m basing my opinion on the press release.).
I think the fee is outrageous to get someone to flirt with you while you’re gaming, but I do think the idea is actually a good one. It is difficult to find someone to game with and a little flirtation is always fun, however, as expensive as video games are as it is… I think the majority of gamers wouldn’t shell out the $$ for this, or if they do, then it’s ill advised. My suggestion would be to get on Xbox Live and luck out by finding me or someone like me who’s not about obligatory flirting or dirty talk, but there are fun, attractive people out there who would love to play a game with someone for free.
I also like the sound of *being* a play date and earning $30 an hour for doing what I love to do, but I’m not the kind of person who can fake interest in someone, even if there’s paycheck. Freaking hell though- a typical night of gaming is 4-5 hours for me. Hmm… No… no I could never do something like this… even if it is $30 an hour to giggle while kicking mutant butt… unless… No… I… No. Just no.

You joke about it, but the thought that you (Dawn) might make a few bucks doing this actually did briefly run through my head when I heard about it a couple of weeks ago. It sounded sleazy enough that I fortunately regained my senses quickly and refrained from mentioning it.
