Oh lovely Friday. Beautiful wonderful Friday who teases me with promises of freedom and yet imprisons me through the day. You taunt me with glimpses of your seductive weekend and graze my nose with a soft kiss that promises the week has been left behind.
That’s all I have for my ode to Friday. I’m sitting here at my desk recapping my uneventful yet filled week of escaping into my room early in the evening to watch television and guiltily chomp on left over holiday candy that didn’t make it into the baskets of costumed children. Days of mentally punching a smug and pompous ass in the face was the bitter sweet highlight and the much talked about and anticipated V came and went. I watched it, I liked it, and I’ll watch it again. I have a feeling though that after episode 3 it’ll lose my interest. Yes I saw the original and I lost interest at some point- but I was pretty young and developed an interest in boys when it came out. The show really didn’t cater to the hormonal tween.
GI Joe Rise of Cobra came out and I actually enjoyed it. I had avoided it in the theater because I fell prey to the bad reviews and financially I can’t justify going to a film that doesn’t drive me insane that I hadn’t seen it yet. I actually screamed out loud at one point… so loud that I actually turned around and said, “I’m sorry… It’s okay…” in case any neighbors in the apartments around me heard the chilling scream. (never watch action films when you’re coming down from a coffee buzz).
Land of the Lost was viewed last night- it was ‘meh’. It was neither great nor horrible- probably a little more tolerable than the original show. I rented it to be a time waster, and it was.
Oops, break time is up… okay kiddies, back to the grind stone.
