Why be in this mundane world when the surreal world in my head is so much more inviting, exciting, and not as complex?

The movie…

First of all I have to say, “Damn I’m tired.” I went to bed ten minutes into Saturday Night Live when I realized it was not worth precious sleep time. Secondly, coffee can never brew fast enough. Third… I forget third.

Midnight Meat Train. It’s 8 in the morning and I’m shaking off my dream of having to shoot badgers with a tranquilizer, a nut job mom who kept shooting up and tossing the syringes in my broken washer/dryer and sitting on stage at the Emmy’s.

All I will say about the story for now… I’ve <3ed Clive Barker for years and this film although much more of a gore fest than I care for, the story was actually pretty good. A photographer is trying to capture the real city and for an upcoming piece he needs to get more of the uncomfortable side of life. One of his subjects turns up missing the night that he took her picture while she was getting mugged, he saved her and discovers that he watched her get on a train where she never stepped off.

He winds up photographing a man that he believes has something to do with the young womans disappearance and while trying to solve the case because the police seem disinterested, he’s also trying to get the perfect shot for a gallery show AND maintain his relationship with the woman he loves.

The photographer soon learns that some things are better left alone.

One thing that isn’t better left alone is coffee. It’s best when drunk. I’m going to go do that now.
