When I last checked the episode online for Surviving Disaster, I believe it’s called Shopping Day Gone Bad (or something like that) I wasn’t able to embed it, otherwise I’d post it here for those to view. Bottom line it’s a terrorist situation that happens in a Mall, School etc. What I took away from watching it was- initially you’re freaking screwed. If you survived the initial mayhem, which it looked harrowing and scary and I’m traumatized just by watching it- then if you can actually make it out of the stream of flying bullets and explosions… you may stand a chance. I didn’t really see a chance for survival other than being freaking lucky.
“If you weren’t shot and dying… then haul ass into a store and run through the back…” I was too terrified to watch further. I think I’d be initially shot down and left for dead.
If anyone else has seen it, “Am I exaggerating the catastrophe?” It didn’t look like there was anything you could initially do to avoid the spray of bullets or bombs.
I am going to stay away shopping malls from now on. Forever and always. Yes, my once every 3 or so years of venturing into one of those places (typically to use the restroom) is OVER WITH) I was also thinking that if a nuclear bomb were to hit my city… there’s no escape from the gamma rays where I live. No buildings tall enough from where I live- I could possibly hide in my hall in the center of my apartment… POSSIBLY- but I think I’d still be screwed. The home invasion it’s disturbing, but I know there’s no wacko out to kidnap me. I’m worth nothing. If someone broke in while I was home… I’ve nothing of value to steal “Take it”… okay, losing my television would SUCK! <-especially since I’m still paying for it. Please don’t take my television. My car… ditto… nothing in it, including the car itself is worth anything in the world of thieves.
I don’t live in a hurricane area and in case of my building catching on fire- it’s only two stories- multiple exits- I’m not worried, but the hijacking and mall terrorists attack… those are the stuff nightmares are made of.
