Why be in this mundane world when the surreal world in my head is so much more inviting, exciting, and not as complex?

The great debate: Online Dating Sites

demo0I tried this half a decade ago. Yes… half a decade ago already and it fell flat in my book. The men were the same faces you’d see cycled for ages, looking very little like their pictures and they treated women like dishes in a buffet (I guess it’s equal with both genders). Romance is forced and gone and the whole thing was just a little too pathetic for my taste…

But tell me dear readers, where does it stand up in your book?

1. I don’t believe that you should lay it all out thereĀ  for all the world to see in the dating line. Things should be discovered through conversation and interacting.

2. If you lack the time to find a suitable mate… then perhaps you don’t have room in your life to devote time to a suitable mate.

3. People are more likely to act like inconsiderate jerks because they can just dismiss you if you if they don’t like you and replace you. (I stopped when I saw myself doing that).

4. I find it belittling. Why would you want to put yourself out there in such a vulnerable or calloused way (I didn’t see a middle ground with people).

What brings this up? I saw something written on a site where Match.com boasts their taking the online dating scene from your small screen in your bedroom (the pc) and moving it to the bigger small screen in your living room.

The ignorance in that statement and promo had me definitely realize what morons they were… My PC *is* in my living room and my desktop pc *is* hooked up to my tv… like most people. It’s as if they’ve missed the current trends where it’s KNOWN that people are moving AWAY from the television set and doing everything via their computer- hence the televisions that are set up to be used with your computer.

“Find a date now” Seriously, is it a dating or escort service; or is there a difference?

I agree with you. Of course, my own methods haven’t really worked out all that well, so I’m not sure my agreement is worth too much.
