On the off chance that I have make-up buyers in the reader base, I have to give my opinion of Cover Girl. Honestly I can’t stand the stuff and the last time I had actually tried it was back in high school at a friends house when I ran out of whatever I was using by Avon.
I dislike the smell and feel of the liquid foundation and in addition to that rancid medicine smell and greasy feel, it would cause my skin to breakout.
A bazillion commercials later with dozens of reputable spokes models, I had hoped the product line had evolved despite never planning to find out first hand.
I was at Walgreens Saturday afternoon on my way back from a movie and popped in for some really good reason that has slipped my mind… but I KNOW it was a very important (I think I wanted to see if they had anything to munch on for later in the evening). VERY important stuff! While I was rushing past the make-up aisles I was stopped dead in my track by sale on foundation “Oil of Olay” $5.38. I thought, “I didn’t know they now do foundation.” Because of my insecurities that stem from being single for so long and climbing the age ladder; I figured it wouldn’t hurt.
For those sharp minded people- you’ve probably guessed the Cover Girl is behind the Oil of Olay product. After putting some one and crinkling my nose at the faint hint of rancid medicine… and greasy feel… I examined the bottle more closely and saw the signature “CG”. Lovely.
Currently I’m sitting at work with a smelly, greasy face hoping to go home soon so I can wash it off.
I’ve no idea why CG has been popular for so long. Maybeline. L’orealĀ and Revlon have comparable prices, better products I’ve never had a complaint with anything I’ve ever tried. CG, after (cough cough) years- is still is crap.
I had actually tried to take a pic of myself with the cell phone to show how bad it was… but the image made me sob uncontrollably. You’d think the shine would make you look younger, but no… not in this situation.

Charles Worthington London:
Results
Moisture Seal Conditioner. I’ve only used this product once so far and in that one time I can say I was impressed by the texture, weight and results of the product. I have an extremely sensitive scalp and so far I’m not running around screaming “IT BURNS IT BURNS” like I’m prone to do with other products. As of this moment it, like its leave-in conditioner counter part, is remaining a staple on my ever expanding hair product shelf… but this product will be used until it’s gone unlike many of the other products I buy and wind up too lazy to toss out and too kind to give it away.
I found this at Walgreens on sale for $3.50 each from the normal low price of $5.99 each.

Jane Be Pure Mineral Stack
Mineral make-up, the fad that doesn’t seem to be fading is now in stackable form. For $9.99 I picked up this bargain of Lip gloss (four shades), 4 shades of eye shadow, Blush/highlighter, face powder and bronzer.
Because this is a promotional and not something that will stay around long- I’ve only found this in warm and cool. My only gripe is that the face powder is a little too dark for my complexion. Other than that ONE complaint, I find it to be a great bargain for decent make up that lasts through my work day and still allows my skin to breathe.

Hey! I LOVE mineral makeup. Just thought I’d throw that in.
Love you!
I will also add that I tried this “Mousse” Foundation by someone – I’m not sure who but I think you have it pictured…the small container with the blue top…and it’s reallllly gritty to me. I don’t like it at ALL….
Mineral make up rocks! (get it?)
The small container is Oil of Olay Foundation by CG- it’s HORRIBLE.
Did you get the Maybeline Mousse foundation? I’ve never had it gritty- perhaps you got a bad container? Normally I like it, it’s just hard to match my shade. I PREFER Age Defying by L’Oreal I think… The aisles kind of blend ya know?
Love you too!
