Why be in this mundane world when the surreal world in my head is so much more inviting, exciting, and not as complex?

I thought it was a *known* thing

Tonight I had the daunting task of telling a young fan of the King that he… “The King” was dead and had been dead for a very long time- 31 years ago to be precise. I remember because it was the year my sister was born and I blamed her for his death.

I was standing in the living room singing some Elvis again while we looked at the Isla pictures and Jonathon asked where he was. I looked at him with a suspicious mind and told him that he was dead. “WHAT???? HE’S DEAD?!?!?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When did THAT happen????!?!?!” I guess with so many platforms to keep a memory alive these days- perhaps one might overlook a 3 decade long death? Either that or just plain old bad parenting! BAD MOMMY BAD!

I think I’ll wait for the weekend before I break the news of Bruce Lee.

Here’s a little something in honor of The King.

lol I know- it almost changed the meaning of the ‘song’ like it stripped some of the insane innocence away.
