Okay, my hiatus is on hiatus so I can write this. Yesterday I took Jonathon in the new to us car (which he loves because it’s a Malibu and his crush is from Malibu). It’s a great ride and it’s nice to drive around with music again (although it has a cassette player- which doesn’t work, but yay to the dictating radio stations who once in a while play songs I like). It was off to the theater for the first showing of The Incredible Hulk and a faint inducing price of 10 dollars for a small box of Reece’s Pieces, a soft pretzel and medium Coke Zero.
The film actually had me excited about the Hulk! For those who are aware, Jonathon is a huge Hulk fan and has watched the 2003 version every week since 2003. The boring, painful to watch film that has caused me to hit my head against the wall a myriad of times and ways every instance he’s asked for me to put it in his player. “WHY???? IT’S SOOO BORING!!”
Edward Norton breathed a new life into the character that I was never really into that Bill Bixby had me annoyed with the overly sensitive male at an early age. The computer Hulk in this film was much more impressive, did the uber cool moves of the video game that the other film lacked STEEL FISTS!!!!!!!!!! I mean dude, he rips the car apart and creates steel fists and then SMASH! The graphics were cool and less cartoonish- plus the excitement of Jonathon seeing a couple of people he had recently met- Stan Lee and Lou Forrigno “I know them!!!”
The ending prompted me to grab the boy and run to see Iron Man… which was OMG FUH-REAKISHLY awesome in every sense of the word. RDJ has always impressed with his acting abilities and this film was no exception. The writing was even more impressive… HE BUILDS HIS OWN SUIT IN A CAVE OUT OF SCRAPS and kicked massive ass (I SAID ASS) while escaping from a three month imprisonment in the Middle East. Oh you bet I took notes! Unfortunately my notes aren’t easy to read and I always wind up doodling all over them…
He transitions from pompous, player (albeit genius) to a high tech, butt kicking humanitarian… and he does it in style and oh so well.
Anyway, you can bet that we’re now off to GameStop to get the Iron Man game and I’m tickled and stoked at the upcoming film that the end of The Incredible Hulk hinted at.
Oh yes, I’ve also seen ‘Wanted’ recently… yeah, that’s all I have to say about that film (cool effects now and then)
Because of financial hardships recently, it took me awhile to get on the Summer Blockbuster Wagon, so I have some catching up to do.
Next up: Hancock and HellBoy 2 (because of Comic Con and sitting through the panel discussion of the creator/cast- I feel that I must watch it) and the highly anticipated, long awaited, homage to Heath Ledger; The Dark Knight!!!!!! Sigh, another summer of DC/Marvel loyalty of characters. Marvel definitely made up for last years crap- keep up the good work.

You said ASS Again! That’s Twice the Ass!
And stop putting pictures of me up on your sight and trying to pass them off as your neighbor. It’s not a-la karate kid lady, it’s supposed to be like Mick Jagger, the lead singer for Aerosmith.
lmao- Oh boy…
Iron Man – KILLER
Hulk – Better than expected
Captain America and Thor, the bar is high boys, hit it so that when we do the Avangers in 2011, it will be worth seeing.
‘Give me a scotch, I’m starving.’
I can’t wait!!! Well I guess I have to… but I don’t wanna!!
